Super proud to announce I’m dropping my next LP, “Passing Through”, in a few weeks from the time of this writing, 2/5/25. And I hope that, looking back on it, they’ll say “It was the start of Scott’s funk period”, because it truly is my most funky. Probably because I’ve been steeping myself in the Stax Records catalog. Which then causes Spotify to begin recommending some deeper (and some maybe not so deep) cuts from more contemporary funk artists. All in all, this is a good thing – We all need our boundaries broadened on occasion, and I’m really enjoying it.
Here’s the track list:
- Just Passin’ Through
- Flirt Proof
- Cheap Shot
- Ball And Chain
- No Say So
- If You’re Nice
- The Way I Seemed
- Running Late
- Weary Traveler
Three of these have already been released – Flirt Proof, Cheap Shot, and No Say So. The rest are primarily funky – the title track is inspired by We Are Family by Sister Sledge. That being said, this wouldn’t be a Brothers Burn LP without a few alternative cuts, and that’s where The Way I Seemed, Running Late, and Weary Traveler come in.
